An all new imersive Pop Up Bar in Nashville, Seussville at Headquarters Beercade.

Seussville
“Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.” Headquarters Beercade is a concept that has always prided itself on being an escape from the realities of adulthood. That escape has never been more necessary, and simultaneously more difficult to create than it has this past year. And yet, despite a year of adversity, thy have created a grander escape, bigger than they have before, simply because we need it. We all need it.
“Unless someone like you cares an awful lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not.”
“At everyone’s core we all want to put good into the world around us. And at HQ, we love that we can be an avenue for the good; for the happiness brought on by a laugh, a good drink and gathering with friends. So as we step into the new year, we invite you once again to escape with us. This time to the wonderful whimsical world of Dr. Seuss. With a dozen immersive scenes and photo ops, a new menu of eccentric cocktails, and a pure escape from the every day; we welcome and encourage you to marvel, play, laugh, and smile–to create new memories and remember all that is good.” – HQ

“I think everyone could use an escape from reality these days, and as Dr. Seuss himself said: ‘Fantasy is a necessary ingredient in living.’ We’ve always believed in that sentiment at HQ, which is why we are excited for guests to experience our Seussville on 2nd pop-up,” shared HQ Beercade owner Brian Galati. “It has been a rough year and taking a journey through the fantasy world of Dr. Seuss is the perfect way to have a little fun while staying safe.”

SHAREABLES
HURRICANE FRIES – Japanese-Inspired Loaded Fries
We ordered the house fries! Made with Japanese Mayo, HQ Sauce, Bonito Flakes, Nori, topped with Sesame. $5 – We also suggest the Tacos, can’t go wrong with those! Also make sure to check their local drafts and local beers that they have to offer.

SEUSS COCKTAILS
TRUFFULA SUNRISE – Tequila
A whimsical selection of spirits inspired by all of our favorite Seuss stories. $14 – Don’t forget to tip your bartenders and waitstaff. Running a a limited and reduce capacity has effected the service industry tremendously. So make sure you share the love! TIP!

HQ GIVES BACK
In addition to over-the-top installations, “Seussville on 2nd” will also feature a menu of eccentric cocktails, from which HQ will donate a percentage of sales from select drinks to the Nashville Neighbors Fund, a relief effort organized by the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee in response to the Christmas Day bombing of downtown Nashville.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY
The pop-up runs through early March paying homage to Dr Seuss’ Birthday on March 2nd. Following COVID-19 safety protocols, tables at HQ Beercade are socially distanced, hand sanitizing and wash stations are available throughout the restaurant, all employees are masked and temperature checked, and installations are regularly cleaned.

SOME OF OUR FAVORITES

JANE KANGAROO
This was my (Tisha’s) 2nd favorite cocktail on the menu. Served in a Collins Glass with a Lavender Sugar Rim and a Crazy Straw. Bombay Sapphire Gin, Chareau Aloe Liqueur, Lavender Luster Dust, Simple Syrup, Lemon and Lime Juice. The simple notes of Lavender mixed with the Gin is a perfect pair. Even if you are not a Gin lover, this cocktail is still for you.

GREEN EGGS & HAM
Sam I am! Just another reminder, you should always step outside of your comfort zone.. You will never know until you try! You will see. So we encourage you to order a cocktail off of their eclectic Seuss menu and pick something you wouldn’t normally try! You won’t be disappointed, we promise!

TRUFFULA SUNRISE
This cocktail is also served in a Collins glass with a Cotton Candy garnish and a red striped straw. Made with Hibiscus-Infused Tradicional Tequila, Dry Curacao, Hibiscus Syrup, Lemon Juice, Simple Syrup and Egg Whites. This really was a fun twist to what your taste buds are used to drinking a Margarita. We loved this one as well and who doesn’t love Cotton Candy?

AS THE WORLD TURNS
Last year was a doozy to say the least, so we can speak for everyone that this escape from reality in this pop up bar was what we all needed. The staff cleans the installations non-stop and their Covid protocols including social distancing go above and beyond. They really have out done themselves to evolve in this ever changing climate for what has been going on in the world.

THE GRINCH
Served in a double rocks glass with three gummy hearts, Grinch edible topper and green striped straw. Tin Cup Whiskey, Hypnotiq Liqueur, Melon Liqueur, Green Apple infused Simple Syrup, Lemon and Lime Juice.

SWINGS
Don’t forget to head upstairs for more ops! It’s all about being a kid at heart which HQ clearly lives by with their iconic neon sign, “Don’t grow up, it’s a trap” highlighting the loft upstairs. Don’t forget to mask up when you take a stroll. This is a must!

RED FISH, BLUE FISH
Served in a coupe glass and garnished with a Dr. Seuss skewered Swedish Fish. This one is made with Blue Raspberry-Infused Bacardi Light Rum, Coconut Purée, Lime Juice, Simple Syrup and Agave.

THING 1 & 2
The attention to detail in this pop up does not go unnoticed. Make sure to keep your eyes peeled because HQ spared NO EXPENSE creating this immersive Dr Seuss escape from reality. It’s the little things for me..
OUR FAVORITE DRINK ON THE MENU #THELORAX

“It was an unanimous decision for our favorite cocktail. The Lorax took the cake. It is served in a Collins glass with a gold sugar rim, edible Lorax mustache and a crazy straw. The ingredients included Amaretto, Giffard’s Pineapple Liqueur, Orange Juice, Lime Juice and Agave. Topped with Ginger Beer. All three of us instantly agreed after just one sip, this one is a must try! We were all pretty blown away with this cocktail and all three of us have a major background in the Hospitality Industry. Sahara and I both are former Bartenders so we appreciated the details that went into creating this one of a kind cocktails. It matches the atmosphere and they truly did an outstanding job by transporting you right into a Seuss book.” – Tisha Savage

Cody – Infvnte – (Pictured Here) “The interactive spots were a lot of fun for pictures, we are obsessed with all the shots we got. HQ really has a way of going above and beyond when it comes to these different themes, it’s incredible. Our server was super nice and attentive. I always enjoy their playlist which is half the vibe in my opinion. I actually really liked the Hurricane Fries some may think they are an acquired taste. My favorite drink was hands down “The Lorax,” but I really did enjoy “The Grinch”.
Sahara – Desert Sugar – (Pictured Here) “HQ has always been one of my favorite spots in downtown. The fact that they’re one of the only places that does pop ups really sets them a part from all the Honky Tonks. The staff was very kind and attentive, the service itself was quick too which is nice because no one likes waiting too long for food or drinks. We tried all of the Seussville drinks, with the lorax being the favorite for me! All of the photo ops were fun, and they’re on top of Covid rules by abiding by ‘mask up stand up’, definitely a 10/10 would recommend to allllll my friends!”

Climb inside the forest of Truffula Trees and sit with Horton in our front lounge. The eight foot tall elephant sits alongside piles of flowers throughout the front lounge. Get served up a plate of green eggs and ham by Sam I Am himself at our main bar! Six foot Truffula trees envelope each column of the main bar with Seuss flowers adorning the wood and moss backdrop. An eight foot tall Sam I Am hoisting up a plate of his green eggs and ham stands atop the bar greeting all HQ patrons. Step into the world of the Lorax with an interactive display of one of the most beloved Dr. Seuss characters. An eleven foot tall Onceler house ascends the railing of the mezzanine and surrounds our 65 inch television. To the right guests can take a photo behind the five foot Lorax mustache, alongside the cherished Seuss character. Oh, the places you’ll go! The fifteen foot tall scene from perhaps Dr. Seuss’ most esteemed piece of literature is the focal point of our main floor. The giant tape wall is covered in cotton clouds flanked by Seuss cityscapes and an interactive twelve foot tall cartoon hot air balloon. “Your mountain is waiting, so get on your way!” The Cat in the Hat comes to life on the corner of our main floor with an eight foot tall version of Dr. Seuss’ iconic character. Adjacent is a three foot tall hat that guests can step inside for a photo or climb inside the life size Whatchamajigger car. Up in the ceiling, Thing 1 and Thing 2 or causing mischief on the chandeliers! Look up! The entire ceiling is encompassed by a stunning fifteen foot installation of Gertrude McFuzz and her gorgeous feather tail.

Which one is your favorite? For me, it is hard to just pick one. But How the Grinch stole Christmas has always been a favorite of mine as well as Green Eggs and Ham. We hope you enjoy this blog and pop-up Seuss bar at HQ!

BOOTH LIFE’S PICK 6 OF THE WEEK #NASHVILLEEVENTSGROUP
The #2 Spot had to go to Big Shotz on 2nd Ave! They were effected by the Christmas Day bombing and Booth Life has worked with Feed Nashville as well to help support 2nd Ave. You can find all of our links below where you can still support. But we also suggest going in to Big Shotz and grabbing a Double Shot! Our go to is the Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash. With amazing live music and that dive bar feel, this is one of our must stops for a night out downtown Nashville. (Smoking is also allowed inside). Ask the bartender how you can still purchase a $12 one of a kind hand made bracelet to support. #2ndAveStrong
The #3 goes to Doc Holidays on 2nd Ave. Everyone always asks us where to get the best Bloody’s. Well, look no further because Doc’s doesn’t disappoint. Making all of your liquid dreams coming true, one cocktail at a time. They are a cozy take on a traditional Bar, located just off Broadway. We love taking our friends here because they have such a welcoming atmosphere, great staff, local musicians that will blow you away and again, we can’t explain how amazing this Bloody Mary is by just a photo. You have to see for yourself. You can also grab merch off their site to show support. Such a good time!
The #4 Spot is going to The Stillery also on 2nd Ave! Since a part of 2nd is now open after the bombing, they had to be on our list. You really can’t go wrong with any of their food items. We love getting their house-made semi-soft pretzels. Your only decision today should be pub cheese or honey-mustard. *We get both!* Sriracha Devil Eggs are highly recommended and are made with crispy prosciutto. Keeping on the starters list is also the Brussel Sprouts. It is hard for me to ever order a full meal when these apps are just too good! But if I have to give a rec on a main course, it would be the Catfish.
The #5 Spot is going to the world famous Skull’s Rainbow Room in Printers Alley. First, the best advice we can give you is to MAKE A RESERVATION. This is one of our all time favorite venues in Nashville and it lives up to ALL the talk you might have heard. The sexy, dark, speak easy vibes alone is what keeps us coming back, and THE FOOD. There is just something about live Jazz music and cocktails by the best mixologists in town. We love ordering their local bourbon in an Old Fashion and their spin on the Classic Irish Coffee is the perfect night cap. I personally ALWAYS order the Prime Rib, it is mouth watering. But we also suggest the Lobster Bisque, Scallops and the Pork Chops.

The last Spot on the list, #6 goes to The Bobby Hotel. Not only do they have a Greyhound bus on their rooftop, they have IGLOOS. Our crew has been here time and time again, and it never gets old. Their restaurant on the 1st floor of the hotel also is a must visit. If you have the chance to also stay here, book now! This hotel is like no other and located in the heart of Printers Alley. Bobby’s Garage also is a great bar. To grab an igloos, we encourage you to book ahead of time. The Pear Flower cocktail, Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, Pan-Seared Halibut, Short Ribs and any specialty seasonal cocktail are our picks.
You can still help support by donating directly to Feed Nashville. This will provide groceries to those displaced from the Christmas Bombing or out of work Hospitality Workers / Musicians in need due to COVID. CLICK HERE to donate now. Or we suggest also visiting the bars that are open on 2nd Ave to show your love and support. Stop by Big Shotz to grab your $12 Leather Bracelet #2ndAveStrong and don’t forget to like Feed Nashville on Facebook! @Feed.Nashville on Instagram.
